Getting to the terminal

The ferry to Igoumenitsa leaves from the Fusina terminal, Via dell'Elettronica, 30176 Venezia. The terminal is on the mainland, not in the historic centre. Cars can't enter the historic centre itself; the road ends at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto. Venice's other terminals are on our Terminals page.

Check-in

Blue Star Ferries requires you to be at the terminal at least 3 hours before departure. Have your passport or ID card ready, and your vehicle registration document if you're travelling with a vehicle. At check-in you'll often see the name Superfast: that's Blue Star Ferries' sister brand within Attica Group, and it's the same crossing.

On board

The ship on this route is usually the Superfast V, with the Superfast III, IV or VII covering some sailings. The fleet offers cabins with shower and toilet, inside or outside, plus airline-style seats. On board there are waiter-service and self-service restaurants, bars and Wi-Fi. As you'll be travelling overnight, many passengers find a cabin worth it.

Vehicles and pets

The ships are car ferries and carry cars and motorhomes. You select your vehicle when you book. For pets, the fleet has dedicated pet cabins and an exercise area; animals are not allowed in the bars and restaurants.

Arrival and onward travel

In Igoumenitsa you dock at the ferry port, the first Greek stop on the route. From here you drive on into Epirus. Connecting ferries run from Igoumenitsa to Corfu; the ferry from Venice itself calls at the island only on selected dates. If you're heading further south, stay on board as far as Patras. Our Greece guide compares the two ports.

Tickets and fares
